WHAT ABOUT THE DOGS? - Fitz's Dog of the Week

Fitz's Dog of the Week....New York Jets +10 

For my first ever What About the Dogs? pick I have to go with one half of the pair who inspired the section. Mike Vick (Cris Collinsworth Voice) makes his first start for Gang Green this weekend in the always tough on a visitor Arrowhead against Andy Reid's Chiefs. The Chiefs are somewhat rolling as of late after winning their last two games over their divisional foe Chargers and the St. Louis Rams. 

So why the heck do I like Vick and the Jets as my dog of the week? Well I firmly believe that after a full week of practice and preparation as the starter Mike Vick is able to make enough plays for the offense to keep this thing within a touchdown. He'll get help in doing so from the Jet's defensive front four who should be able to slow down running back Jamaal Charles and the "game manager" Alex Smith, who is nicked up with a shoulder strain. Also, this could be the first time all season that Idzik and Rex's make-shift secondary faces a group of wide receivers that they actually  should be able to cover. Sure the group is led by Dwayne Bowe who's made a few plays as of late, but we all know Bowe is much more focused on Smith passing him a dubbie instead of the pigskin. 

When Vick entered the game after Geno's pick party in the 1st quarter this past Sunday it may not have changed the outcome of the game but it did seem to ignite an energy through the team. It's the type of energy a legitimate NFL QB brings to a team. While I loved the Sanchize,  this was the type of energy that I haven't seen since the old Jet "Gameday Host" Jenn Sterger was getting dickpics sexted to her from the ol' gunslinger Brett Farve. Although last Sunday was a complete disaster I do think it afforded the Jets an opportunity to officially name their only legitimate NFL starting quarterback on the roster as the starter with a full week to prepare for their opponent. Give me Sexy Rexy and the best QB who's ever started for him with 10 points given to them.
