Fitzy Lays the Wood Batting Leadoff

It's time for Fitzy to step into the batters box and dig the cleats in. It's opening day readers. I mean sure Thursday Night might have been opening day but I wasn't into #layingthewood in that one (#goodcallbyfitzy). That awkward Break Down the Blog Podcast that didn't even break down a blog is behind us and the 2015 NY Morning Wood Sports Blogging year is officially getting started. It's time for the only Super Bowl Blogging NY Morning Wood Sports Blogger to get us started.

Our new Head Coach Todd Bowles leads my Gang Green onto the field tomorrow at MetLife against our former pal Mike Pettine and the Cleveland Browns. Now our new Coach and I may differ on the type of lady that excites us (I'm more of an Aretha Franklin Guy) but we certainly agree on the type of defense that excites us. Coach Bowles is going to roll out a bad ass defense against a bad Cleveland offense this week and that's enough for Fitz to lay the 3.5 point wood required to take the Jets. Revis Island, Cro, Busta Bust, Mo Wilk, Leonard and the rest of the crew are likely to pitch a shutout against this Josh McCown led offense.

Look for Brandon Marshall, Ivory and that sexy ass Eric Decker to give the other Fitzy enough help that we win this one relaxingly.

JETS (-3.5) 20 - Browns 0

Now before my PIP/Blogging Brother From Another Mother/Tag Team Partner goes ahead and rips me for "not laying big enough wood" by his standards, I figured I'd add this one up with another play to try to ease his pain.

It has to happen eventually. I can't see it happening. I don't know when it is going to happen, but it has to happen eventually. I don't think Peyton Manning has another full season of brilliance in him. The end to last year sketched the shit out of me. However I'm not sketched out enough to think our favorite unibrow rocking quarterback can keep it within 4.5 in Mile High this week versus Peyton.

Peyton and Flacco are both Superbowl winning quarterbacks. They both have a ton of respect due to them. They have that in common. What they don't have in common is the talent around them. Peyton has a buttload of talent that lineups on the offensive side of the football for the Broncos with him. Demaryius, Emmanuel and newcomer Owen Daniels lead up a receiver core that will split up the 40 touchdowns old Peyton tosses this season. CJ Anderson is going to get the handoffs in the Gary Kubiak running game and that means CJ Anderson is going to #PLEASE his fantasy owners.

Oh yeah, Gary Kubiak....Flacco is going to miss that guy....Forsett is going to miss that guy..... and Steve Smith Sr. is sort of, kind of, really old....and no one else that will suit up on offense for the Ravens this week deserves to be mentioned on this minor league level blog (Crockett Gilmore maybe?!). With the lack of talent they roll out, the Raven's offense is in for a long day verse the bad ass Broncos defense.

Sorry T-Sizzle, my fellow Ball so Hard U alumnus, you guys are not keeping this one within 4.5.

BRONCOS (-4.5) 27 - Ravens 13

p.s. The Browns need to lineup Duke Johnson on every play and get Johnny Football under center ASAP.

p.p.s Since we mentioned Eric Decker...

p.p.p.s Does Gladys get anyone besides Coach excited?
